So you might or might not remember the last time you had a sadistic laugh. But the one you are about to witness is one of a kind. The genre of horror has had its say in Hollywood, however, the newly released horror thriller of 2022 SMILE has made a sardonic approach to the industry.

Rose, a consultant Psychiatrist at a multi-speciality hospital is encountered by something unusual that changes her life forever.    Initially as reported by the Experienced consultant psychiatrist to the investigating officer ...... Wait. WHAT..? Investigating officer? Where'd they come from? Exactly! That's how fast it happened as a patient (teenager) of hers started behaving paranoid and throwing things in whichever direction her eyes gazed. She reported seeing things that only she could see in this world, something that threatened her existence. 

As she was talking about her experiences she fretted as if she saw someone behind Rose(the Psychiatrist). The moment rose called for emergency help she witnessed a change in her patient's expression. She had a piece of a vase she broke and started peeling her neck and the remnant is where the officers came in

As Rose reported she showed signs of post-traumatic psychosis which might have led to such a deranged nervous organization. This was followed by a couple of hallucinations for the doctor herself during her paid week -off from her services. And to your surprise the one who attributed such paranormal thoughts to be existing all in the head on account of mental illness, however, she was now convinced of the demonic presence as well as the spirits which she earlier deemed as a psychotic disorder or distortions.

So what about it? Having sound experience in the field of psychiatry for years she was still convinced of the demonic presence. When your emotions are intense it takes over your mind doing away with all the rationality on account of one's experiences. Horror thrillers have ever been a bone of contention in Hollywood but when it comes to psychiatry there aren't many players moving around. Our minds are designed to gather knowledge and store them at the end of the day if emotion gets the better of it, It is all futile and this is what has been portrayed in this captivating horror thriller.

It is no different in terms of plot as it no longer beholds any specialty. The same-old breaking of a chain of deaths/rather murders has been the central plot as well as the climactic scene of the movie. However, the ending is exceptionally tinged with the right recipe of horror and education.

 The post-traumatic stress disorder experienced by the psychiatrist had been displayed whose mother was mentally ill and was prevented from dying by Rose as she was unempowered as well as her behavior was possessed by a hesitation which enthralled the viewers when they discover a part of that hesitation was because her mother's mental illness had taken a toll on her family and their early childhood.

So what was it that might have stopped her from saving her mother's life?
Was it her non-humanitarian personality? Certainly not. Quite the contrary since she was a psychiatrist by profession who helped people lead a better life. Not only that she helped people alleviate trauma and it's symptoms which she is eventually faced with. We had once talked about how we do not behave according to our personality. Rather we are driven by instincts that are somewhere in our minds, undiscovered even by us.
